BEYOND THE FOURTH OF JULY

I checked my cell phone.  The date on the cell phone informed me that it's July 6, 2014.  Roughly soon to be forty-eight hours has passed since the Fourth of July filled the city of Columbus, Ohio with excitement.  There were fireworks both above me and on television (I saw the New York City firework show live on television).  Sparklers were lit with care (Hopefully).  People other than me drinking alcohol to excess (I rarely touch alcohol).  There was excitement in the air as the United States of America celebrated the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  Meaning the Thirteen Colonies stopped being a colony of England and became an independent country called the United States of America.  But first, English King George III had to be defeated in the Revolutionary War from April 19, 1775 to April 11, 1783 and the War of 1812 from June 18, 1812 to February 18, 1815.  King George III was so determined to make sure the United States of America reverts back to it's former the Thirteen Colonies territory of England status that he even burned down Washington D.C. in general and the White House specifically during the War of 1812.  King George III was incarcerated into a lunatic asylum cell between the Revolutionary War and the War 0f 1812 and suffered loss of privileges even further when England lost the War of 1812.  Poor hapless King George III died of natural causes in 1820 broken and humiliated beyond repair.  So July 4 is also about the humiliation of British King George III---The first ever sworn enemy of the United States of America.  It was the first ever military victory for the brand new country called the United States of America.
And so us Americans in the United States celebrated Independence Day the only way us Americans know how---In a loud bombastic carnival of fun and excitement.  Up yours King George III.
